Mission Statement of the Universal Negro Improvement Association (UNIA)
The Universal Negro Improvement Association (UNIA) is a global movement dedicated to the liberation, unification, and advancement of people of African descent. We exist to build power through education, economic development, cultural pride, and political self-determination.
Rooted in Marcus Garvey’s vision of “One God, One Aim, One Destiny,” the UNIA works to reconnect African people worldwide — from the continent to the diaspora — around shared purpose, mutual respect, and collective progress.
Our mission is to strengthen communities, restore heritage, and create institutions that ensure justice, opportunity, and prosperity for future generations. We believe that by organizing, producing, and governing ourselves, we can shape a future worthy of our history and our highest potential.

Vision Statement of the Universal Negro Improvement Association (UNIA)
We envision a unified global African community that is self-reliant, self-governing, and self-determined — a people who define their own destiny, control their own resources, and speak with one powerful voice.
The UNIA seeks to build a world where African heritage is honored, Black excellence is institutionalized, and future generations inherit systems rooted in justice, wealth, and freedom.
Our vision is the restoration of African dignity, the strengthening of our collective identity, and the creation of an international network of empowered communities — connected by shared purpose, guided by ancestral wisdom, and committed to progress for all African people at home and abroad.

Economic Empowerment
We commit to building, owning, and sustaining businesses and institutions that circulate wealth within our communities and uplift our people. -
